How to Get Life Coaching Clients: Using the Internet To Find Life Coaching Business Even If You?re Not Tech Savvy

(My Original Blog Post: http://ping.fm/pWQAm)
With some basic tools, just about anyone can use the internet to get more life coaching business. Even if you have somewhat of a love-hate relationship with your computer, you can learn how to get life coaching clients from the internet. Believe me, I don’t know of anyone who thinks I am the least bit tech-savvy. But this I can do. The key to getting more life coaching business with this strategy is to think like a farmer. You need to prepare the field, plant the crops, and allow them time to grow. Being impatient won’t get you a good crop, nor is it how to get life coaching clients. Here are my top three favorite ways you can find more life coaching business.

Three Online Methods for How to Get Life Coaching Clients for Your Life Coaching Business

.

How to Get Life Coaching Clients by Blogging:
If you want to increase your life coaching business through blogging, there are a few key points. You want to make an impression, so Google finds you and drives traffic to you when people type in their keyword phrases. The first way to make a good impression with Google is to post a blog daily; this means 365 days in a row. After that, you can go to every other day. The next way is to find the keywords that clients are looking for, and incorporate them into your title and article. Make sure you also write quality articles between 300-600 words.

How to Get Life Coaching Clients by Using Google Adwords:
The quickest way to find out how to increase your life coaching business is by researching your competitors. Find out what’s working for others, and rework it to make it your own. You’ll need an Adwords account, which will cost you about $25. Choose your keywords, and set up your ad campaign. Make sure you watch your ad performance, as measured by your click through rate. The more people who click through, the cheaper your rate. This will save you money and make you money at the same time.

How to Get Life Coaching Clients by Using Social Media:
Can Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other social media sites help you get more life coaching business? One easy way is to use Ping.fm to send a post notification to FriendFeed, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn everytime you post a blog. All these areas will be updated from one post. You can also post special links from your blog to your Facebook page. It’s especially enticing if you have a picture on your blog for each article. People tend to linger a bit longer, and read the article to find out more about the picture. Those people who hit your blog can also be invited to follow you on Facebook or Twitter. A lot of people are willing to follow you on these sites, even when they don’t want to get email from you.

You Can Learn How to Get Life Coaching Clients By Exploring New Resources

.

Hopefully now you can see how to get life coaching clients from the internet without becoming a computer genius. Using tools like blogs, Google Adwords, and social media can even become fun once you get the hang of it. And if you take care of your crop, your life coaching business will grow.

Internet Dummies: How to Become an Online Coach http://ping.fm/SE3RE
[Blog] Online Life Coach Certification Training For Internet Dummies: Online Coaching Business Made Sim...: Online Life Coach Certification Training a Waste of Time?
.

“Online coaching is not for me.”  That’s what I said as early as a year ago when someone told me about online life coach certification training.  The last thing I want to do is to de-humanize the world of life coaching by making people talk to a computer.  Not to mention that online coaching is hard and technical.  I can’t figure it out.  Online life coach certification training is probably for ‘propeller-heads’ who like to think of themselves as coaches but couldn’t be a good life coach if they tried.

Get the Flash Player to see this player.

CLICK HERE (Right Click, and select ’save link as…’ to download this video

All that changed when I saw online coaching happening via video.  I realized that online coaching COULD be human and could connect me with people.  That’s when I started to commit to really figuring out the ‘technical’ side of it.  That is when my online life coach certification training began.
Online Life Coach Certification Training Made Simple: Three Online Coaching Secrets
.

During my online life coach certification process, I’ve learned that there are three keys to getting coaching clients via online coaching.
First Key to The Online Coaching Business:  Get More Clients
.

It seems like this should go without saying, but online coaching businesses get more clients.  It’s easier to generate coaching leads.  It’s easier to get the word out to more people that are actively searching for what you can give them.  The online coaching business is the easiest way possible to match up buyers of coaching and online coaches.
Second Key to The Online Coaching Business:  Make More Money Per Purchase
.

During my online life coach certification training I learned that I could actually make more money every time a client bought coaching from me because I could coach more than one client at a time (in an even more intimate way, in fact) not to mention that it cost me less to get the same information in the hands of my new online coaching clients.  Why?  Because I didn’t have to print and ship all the cd’s and workbooks anymore!  Everything was delivered electronically for pennies on the dollar.
Third Key to The Online Coaching Business:  Get Clients to Purchase More Often
.

Another thing I learned during my online life coach certification training was that it became easier to get the same clients to buy again and again from me because they could afford my programs more easily and I had more time to provide more cool programs for them as well.  I had the time to produce more cool stuff because I wasn’t doing as much one on one coaching and I had more time to think about what my clients really needed.
Online Life Coach Certification Training:  Now is The Time Because The Online Coaching Technology Has Become Easy
.

There are several facts that you’ve got to believe about online coaching in order to get excited about online life coach certification training.  You’ve got to believe that you can do this.  You’ve got to believe that you MUST do this (to stay competitive and for you own life coach sanity for that matter).  You also got to believe that the time is NOW to get your online life coach certification training because if you wait another year or two, the market will be flooded and it will be too late.  Don’t wait until then to learn to run your own online coaching business.

Business Coaching for People Who Hate Sales: Sales Training Coaching Simplified

(My Original Blog Post: http://coachestrainingblog.com/becomeacoach/2009/10/business-coaching-sales-training-coaching-simplified/)
One of the most common needs in business coaching is how to improve sales. And many people would rather go to the dentist than to initiate a sales conversation. But sales training coaching can actually be more fun than most people realize. And when business coaching can transform clients into sales gurus, everyone benefits. Here are five sales training coaching steps that will change the way you look at sales.

Five Sales Training Coaching Steps for Improving Business Coaching Sales

.

Sales Training Coaching Step #1: Build rapport and trust. This step sounds easy, but you might be surprised how few of my new business coaching clients actually begin with this step. They get so nervous and eager; they forget that their client needs time to warm up to the idea of engaging in a sales conversation. Imagine that most clients start out talking to you with their arms crossed. They are resisting being sold anything. Until their arms relax, you do not have permission to proceed.

Sales Training Coaching Step #2: Identify your customer’s needs. Ok, you have a product or service but is it a fit for your client? This is not only a weakness for many business coaching clients, but also a weakness for many beginning coaches. Have a list of ready made questions if you need help getting started, but once you open the floodgates most people are quite happy to tell you their problems and what they need. And here’s the key. If you can explain your customers’ problems in a more clear and concise manner than they can, they will automatically look to you for the solution.

Sales Training Coaching Step #3: Share the benefits of what you have to offer. If you have done this process correctly, you have done 75% of the work. You have a customer who is ready to listen to you and, in business coaching, we call this the “sweet spot.” A term I learned from one of my mentors, Eric Lofholm. See http://saleschampion.com/Sales-Training-Blog/.

Sales Training Coaching Step #4: Ask for the order and wait for a response. Most business coaching clients dread this part more than anything else until they understand the psychology behind it. Whoever talks first, looses their spot as the leader of the conversation. It may take 30 or more seconds before your customer thinks about your request, and has time to respond. The silence is uncomfortable for both of you, so it’s O.K. to wait it out and be patient.

Sales Training Coaching Step #5: The finish line. At this point, you’re ready for anything they come up with; which will be either a yes, a no, or an objection. I train my business coaching clients to get excited about the objections because this is where their skills can really make a difference. Most people get discouraged at objections, when most of the time the customer just needs more information. Even a “no” is great, because at least you know where you stand and you have successfully completed the process.

Give Your Life Coaching Career a Boost: How the Right Name Can Make All the Difference for Your Life Coaching Business

(My Original Blog Post: http://coachestrainingblog.com/becomeacoach/2009/10/give-your-life-coaching-career-a-boost-how-the-right-name-can-make-all-the-difference-for-your-life-coaching-business/)
Are you struggling to find a name for your life coaching business?  Or perhaps you are looking for a new domain name to take your life coaching career to the next level?  Shakespeare was wrong when he wrote, “What’s in a name?  That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.”  A great name could mean the difference of hundreds of thousands of dollars to your life coaching business.  With such importance, it’s no surprise that a lot of coaches spend a good part of their life coaching career trying to find the perfect name.

Your Life Coaching Business Name Must Entice Potential Customers

e

What’s the most important thing your life coaching business name needs?  The name must portray the benefit of your product of service to your customer.  If you do only this, you’ve hit a home run in your life coaching career.   The benefit will be the answer to your customers’ greatest fears, hopes, and aspirations.  It will be the way to avoid their greatest fears, and the way to achieve their greatest desires.

A Catchy Name Makes a Difference to Your Life Coaching Career

e

If you can add alliteration or rhyme to the name and make it catchy; it’s icing on the life coaching business cake.  It makes your business more memorable, and can be a great boost for your life coaching career as far as name recognition.  “Double Your Dating.com” is a great example.  It has the exact benefit in the title.  At JTS Advisors, we created the “Master Coach Council.”  The benefit is that most coaches are more enamored with becoming good coaches than making money.  There is also alliteration with the “C’s.”

Most Importantly Make Sure the Name of Your Life Coaching Business Describes the Service You Provide

e

Is your life coaching business in danger of being one of the 90% that will fail during the first year?  The best way to ensure the longevity of your life coaching career is to make your business and business name all about how you are going to provide value for your client.  When you get your own ego involved, in any form, it stops being about your customer.

So while a name is important to your life coaching business, make sure that most of your time is spend doing what you set out to do when you first started your life coaching career.  To make a difference for others.

Executive Coaching For Dummies: Leadership Training and Coaching

(My Original Blog Post: http://ping.fm/4DLy8)
If you think you have to be brilliant to be able to provide executive coaching, think again.  With basic leadership training and coaching, you can understand the psychology behind the game and really be able to transform ordinary leaders into giants.  These leadership training and coaching skills can be used in many contexts; from sales, to executive coaching, to parenting, to management, to high level political debates.

Enter into Your Clients World to Make a Measureable Difference Using Executive Coaching

e

Here’s what most people don’t understand about leadership training and coaching, if they did it would change their lives forever.  When you’re talking to someone you are either in your reality or you are in theirs.  After executive coaching, hopefully you can go back and forth between these two realities within a single conversation.  We all have our own worlds, so to speak.  And in these worlds we have our own languages, beliefs, and rules of how things must work.  And unless the person you’re talking to is willing to come into your world, you must go into theirs.

With the Right Leadership Training and Coaching Skills Your Ventures in Others Worlds Will Help You to Discover What Makes That Person Tick

e

Some people don’t want to go into others peoples’ worlds.  But the executive coaching for that person is that whoever is the most flexible and adaptable, is the leader.  With leadership training and coaching skills that allow you to venture into someone else’s world, you can learn enough to really influence that person.  Perhaps even enough to get them to come into your own world.  Imagine the possibilities of having a conversation where both people were able to see things from the other person’s point of view!

Do More Than Listen and Understand, Use Your Executive Coaching Skills to Dive into Your Clients Worlds

e

The key leadership training and coaching skills you’ll need, go far beyond listening and trying to understand.  Just like going into another world, you’ll need to try out the food and experience some of what that world has to offer.  Not based on your own prejudices, but through the eyes of the locals of that world.  Maybe in your world, you don’t eat bugs, but in someone else’s world grubs are a delicacy.  This executive coaching strategy of truly seeing things from another person’s perspective will pay off, but a word of caution.  Make sure you don’t go so far into that other world that you get lost.  We’ve all had those conversations with people who are so far into their own world and problems they can’t see solutions.  Don’t get stuck there with them.

Since few people are willing or able to bridge over into your reality, you have two choices.  Use your leadership training and coaching skills to bridge into theirs, or stay in your own world.   But at least with this executive coaching, you know you have a choice.

Online Coaching Training Courses: Why Online Coaching Certification Isn?t Worth the Paper It?s Written On

(My Original Blog Post: http://ping.fm/KvIDw)
Just search for online coaching courses and you’ll find countless courses that offer online coaching certification.  Some in as little as one day!  But will online coaching certification get you what you want?  Is the only thing that’s keeping you from having all the clients you want a matter of being certified?  What do you really need from an online coaching program?

Does Taking an Online Coaching Course Equal Business???

e

What usually happens is that coaches who are trying to “do things right” feel that they need some type of certification, online coaching certification or otherwise, before they can start their coaching business.  After they complete their online coaching course, they find that certification doesn’t equate business.  I’ve only been asked by one potential client what my qualifications were.  I knew that information was not going to help him make a decision, so I put my emphasis on getting him to schedule a free session with me.

Clients Will Not Come Knocking Down Your Door Simply Because You Posses an Online Coaching Certification

e

Unfortunately, after coaches receive their online coaching certification, they still don’t have clients.  And while online coaching courses can be valuable, the problem many coaches have is that they have to transform from being an ordinary person and into a coach who can walk on water.  How do they do that?

So What’s A Coach To Do?  Online Coaching Courses Do Not Provide the Mentoring You Need to Get to the Next Level

e

The key distinction between successful coaches and those who are looking for the next online coaching certification to get them where they need to be is mentoring.  A strictly online coaching course simply won’t have the one on one mentoring and accountability to take most people to the next level.  No one can see the middle of their own back without a mirror.  We all have blind spots that keep us from taking that next step.  If we have someone to show us what that is, then we can navigate around it.

Unfortunately, this is the one area where coaches try to save money and either get coaching for free from their peers, or try to boost their credentials through taking more online coaching courses and getting that next online coaching certification.  But there is a point when you know all you need to know to getting into action, yet you’re not seeing results.   When this happens, it may be time to try something you’ve never tried and get a mentor to guide you to that next level.

(My Original Blog Post: http://ping.fm/zz40z)

Scandals From The Top Life Coaches in The Life Coaching Business

.

Why are you reading this?

Do you want to earn a higher life coach fee, or are you starting a life coaching business? Are you just curious what ‘scandal’ I’m speaking of in the title?

Scandal has a lot to do with how a life coaching business can get more clients and begin to charge a higher life coach fee. Let me illustrate:

What do all these headlines have in common?

  • 'Well-loved' priest dead; police suspect homicide

  • Documents: Wife says balloon dad plotted hoax

  • Bank failures rise past 100 for 2009

  • Farmers sell wives to pay debts in rural India

  • Ice skating bear kills Russian circus staffer

They are all from CNN’s front page of their website, and they all use some form of SCANDAL to grab the attention of the reader. Scandal is about anything that would automatically grab your target market’s attention. In the general market of the news, that usually means death, lying, success and failure, money, sex, and conflict.

To Charge a High Life Coach Fee, You Need Your Client’s Attention

.

Most life coaches are running around hunting for business. Hunting for more life coaching business takes all your time, and it doesn’t create an environment where you can charge a high life coach fee.

The environment for a high life coach fee is one where you have a lot of hungry prospects wanting to work with you. There will always be a small percentage of a group that is willing and able to pay quite high fees for what you supply, and therefore, if you have a large enough group wanting your coaching, viola! You are now charging a higher and higher life coach fee.

Life Coaching Business is Naughty?

.

Scandal is only one way of getting your client’s attention, but the reason I brought it up here is that coaches are known as ‘purists;’in other words, they are IN LOVE with the coaching that they do and the last thing they want is to sully their craft with scandal or some other device to get people’s attention.

Many life coaches think using marketing or publicity tactics are ‘naughty’. If that’s you, you’ll need to change your mindset to get by as a coach, no matter how good you are.

Keys to a High Life Coach Fee: 3 Ways to Get Attention:

.

  1. Scandal

  2. Specific Benefit

  3. News (new information never offered before)

If you are willing to shock your client into giving you their attention, you’ll have lots of prospects following your blog or newsletter.

If you offer very specific benefits to your client (i.e. benefits that THEY want), then you’ll get their attention. Be careful not to be generic.

What do I mean by generic? Here’s an example:

If you’re looking to get chiropractors’ attention (you coach chiropractors on expanding their business), don’t just send out a headline that says: “How to Get More Business”. That’s a generic benefit that thousands of marketers are using. Those chiropractors see that headline probably every day. Use something more specific to chiropractors like: “The One Mistake That Costs Chiropractors 10 Clients Every Year”.

Information and up to date news is something that everyone wants, but just remember that news is only news when it is news to YOUR prospect. Make sure you ask yourself, “Does my prospect care about this information / news?”

Life Coaching Business Mistake: Squander The Attention of Good Prospects

.

Once you’ve got the attention, your work isn’t done. You’ve got to keep your readers’ interest and have them take some type of action so you can either sell them on your life coaching business or keep in future touch with them to cultivate the relationship. (You will, of course, see that there are several offers on this blog that encourage you to stay in touch with me, for instance.)

Attention is only one part of the game, but for many coaches in the life coaching business, it is one that they tend to miss. If you want to charge a higher life coach fee, then learn to attract attention of the right people like crazy, and you’ll be heading in the right direction.

How to Build Your Life Coaching Business: How to Get Life Coach Clients Who Can?t Wait to Get Started

(My Original Blog Post: http://ping.fm/Mql4o)
The most common question I hear is from coaches who are wondering how to get life coach clients and new life coaching business. Usually, what’s stopping these coaches from taking action is lack of certainty about how to get life coach clients. Especially when they don’t have the support and mentoring they really need to get their life coaching business started or build it to the next level.

How to Get Life Coach Clients To Sign Up for Free Sessions with Your Life Coaching Business

.

The problem is that the coaches who are asking me how to get life coach clients know what they need to do to build their life coaching business. They need to run free sessions. But where do you find people to coach?

  1. In your own backyard. Everyone knows at least 100 people, and those people know at least another 100. How to get life coach clients from your friends and family? You can tell them about your life coaching business, or you can have them experience what you do through a free session. Of course, your family and close friends aren’t likely to pay you for coaching, except for perhaps your mom if you get stuck and desperate for cash, but they know others who don’t have the same sacred relationship. They are more likely to take you seriously and sign up for coaching. If not, they also know people who you don’t know yet.

  2. Give a presentation. Find a group or organization that is willing to listen to your one-hour training. Give them your best information, because you may never have the opportunity to give it to them again. How to get life coach clients from this? Midway through your presentation, pass around a sheet of paper for each person to fill out for a request for a free coaching session. Continue to provide value, and at the end have a second offer. Perhaps a great deal on a coaching program or product that you offer through your life coaching business.

The Key to How to Get Life Coach Clients is to Make Your Life Coaching Business Irresistible

.

They key to “how to get life coach clients” is really providing so much value that people want more. Whether it’s through word of mouth from others that you have a made a difference for or by providing value from a presentation, your potential clients are making a decision about whether you will have the answer they are looking for. The simplest way to get more life coaching business is to get others excited about the value you provide. My coach always told me, “Promise the moon, and then deliver.”

Coaching for Success in Business: How to Help Your Own Success Coaching Business While You Make a Difference for Others

(My Original Blog Post: http://ping.fm/0JFBd)
Does success coaching to improve employees’ performance ultimately help a company’s bottom line?  Can it be even more effective than coaching for success in business from the top?  Statistics prove that these are benefits one can expect from success coaching.  And coaching for success in business can be used to help coaches build their own practices.  How?

How Does Success Coaching Help Build Your Own Practice?

.

Coaching for success in business can mean getting five clients from one conversation.  It is also easier to sell this concept because it’s easier to sell measurable results.  Most success coaching is harder to sell because it’s so esoteric and there aren’t any measurable results to show.  And you can get five coaching clients by talking to one person if you coach a business rather than an individual.  There are a lot more potential coaching clients when you work with businesses.

Coaching for Success in Business Can Bring a Gold Mine of Success Coaching Clients

.

First, you have to know how to sell the idea of success coaching to the business owner in order to get it pushed through.  Ask how much the company is paying their employees and relative to how much that employee is producing.  Explain that coaching for success in business has been proven to triple the productivity of employees.  Allow that business owner to calculate what that benefit translates to in actual dollars?  Then allow that person to see the amount they would pay you for coaching is only a very small fraction of what you pay your employees.

When Coaching for Success in Business, Find Ways to Measure the Impact of Your Success Coaching

.

Next you need to keeping statistics on the employees so you can show the business owner results from your success coaching.  It also useful information to for future sales to show your track record of how coaching for success in business has helped your other clients.  To do this, find out from the business owner and employees what the most important measurements of their success are in terms of sales, widgets, or satisfied customers.  What are they supposed to produce that matters to the business owner?  Put whatever that is into a spreadsheet and have the employees report to you as their coach on a daily basis.  As you coach them to achieve better and better results you will have an ongoing record the results you helped achieve.

Coaching for success in business in this manner will help you maintain a steady stream of clients and referrals.  Especially in larger companies, if your success coaching is producing great results in one department you will find yourself coaching other departments as well.  And as long as you can continue to track ongoing measurable results, you’ll be able justify your position.

Start Life Coaching Business Booming With Strategic Partners And Joint Ventures

(My Original Blog Post: http://ping.fm/u63y1)

Start Life Coaching Business The Fastest Way Possible

.

<joint ventures to get life coaching business by clicking the arrow below.>>

Life coaching business doesn’t have to be hard to get when you use joint venture partners to help you get your life coaching business started.

When building a coaching practice, most new life coaches try to start life coaching business coming in through only a few ‘old school’ practice building methods:

1.  Networking

2.  Internet marketing

3.  Referrals

4.  Sit at Home and Hope

Unfortunately, most of these methods work only for master salespeople, master geeks, or master marketers, not to mention that they are slow slow slow!  If you want your life coaching business to thrive quickly, then the best way to start life coaching business coming in is to use joint venture strategies with strategic partnerships.

The Way to Start Life Coaching Business?  Why to Use Strategic Partners in Building a Coaching Practice

.

If you use strategic partners and joint ventures to grow your life coaching business, you’ll tap into the easiest way to find new coaching leads and get prospects excited about working with you.  Partners can help you to figure out whether or not you even want to go into a particular target life coaching business market before you commit your resources.  You also have a chance to practice your techniques without spending your own money to find leads.  Joint venture sales are always the easiest sales to make because they are based upon endorsements, meaning that the partner, who is already respected by their customers, endorses you and passes their credibility across to you.  Now you have credibility with ALL of that joint venture’s clients!  It’s just good business as you start life coaching business coming in to get started without having to worry about building a giant lead generation machine. If you start life coaching business without using joint venture partners, you’ll be hard pressed to get new business.  You won't have enough exposure to leads to even learn to sell the ones that come in.  You won't have a chance for the 'big growth' that you may desire for your business, and you’ll probably go broke trying to grow your business (because leads cost so much in advertising dollars).

What Are Strategic Partnerships in a Life Coaching Business?

.

As you start life coaching business coming in, strategic and joint venture partnerships in a life coaching business is getting together with other people and figuring out how you can bring each other business.  More specifically, joint venture partnerships in terms of building a coaching practice is mostly about finding businesses that provide training, seminars, home study courses, or other products and services to the types of customers that want and need a coach like you. Think of building a coaching practice with joint venture partnership like having a no holds barred Le-Tip or BNI group.  You can find anyone you want to work with and the only limit is how much you can give each other at the time.

<joint ventures to get life coaching business by clicking the arrow below.>>

How to Start Life Coaching Business Using Joint Venture Partnerships

.

Here are a few simple steps to building a coaching practice using joint ventures:

  • Ask the question: “Who already has my customer?”  The first step is really about figuring out what types of companies and people already work with the types of life coaching clients that you are looking to work with.  Make a list of them.

  • Contact your list of prospective partners.  The second step is to get in touch with all your prospective partners.  This can take a while because the most valuable partners are busy and they don’t always answer the phone.

  • If you can, lead with the giving hand.  This means that if you have something to offer them, do it.  Get them business (promote them) or get them content (write articles for them, or other content work they may need).

  • Eventually ask them to send you business.  Ask if you can work with their customers by offering select customers a free coaching session, etc.

Start Life Coaching Business Coming in Today

    .

Your first step is to make a list of who already works with your customer, and set up a plan to systematically contact them.  Take this step, and you’ll see how many people there are ‘out there’ that can help you grow your business.  If you can just get one out of ten of them to help you, you’ll have more life coaching clients in your coaching practice than you’ll ever have time to coach.

Life Coach Training Principles for All Coaches

    e

I don’t think Karen Pryor had life coaching training in mind when she wrote, “Don’t Shoot the Dog!  The New Art of Teaching and Training.”  But it’s a good coach training resource to help answer the problem: how do you get your clients to perform.    One of the key coach training distinctions of this book is that all our actions reinforce behavior.   This life coaching training is about knowing how to reinforce the behaviors you want to get the results you want.

Life Coaching Training 101: How do Reinforcements Work?

    e

Life Coaching Training Principle #1:  Positive reinforcers are anything paired with a behavior that increases the likelihood of that behavior occurring again.    Used properly positive reinforcers are very effective.  These reinforcers should be delivered as the behaviors occur.  Imagine using delayed reinforcement on your pet.  Telling your dog, “good boy” a few days after he sits on command doesn’t work.  Telling a loved one how great she looked when you went to out for dinner last week has a similar effect.  I use this coach training principle with my clients.  I have them call me to let me know they have followed through with a commitment.  Immediately after they complete the task, if possible.  Even though they usually leave a voice message, the occasional time they reach me is like hitting the jackpot in Vegas.

Life Coaching Training Principle #2:  Negative reinforcement might be as subtle as a change in tonality or giving someone a sideways glare.  Having an accountability discussion with your client who shows up late or fails to complete his commitments is one situation where this coach training may apply.  Another is yelling “Stop” when your two year old has a fistful of his sister’s hair in his hand while they are sitting in the backseat of the car.  If the negative reinforcer continues after the result is achieved, it’s tuned out.

Life Coaching Training Principle #3:  Another way to positively reinforce your clients is to give them encouragement along the way toward their goals.  Think of rewarding yours clients for continuing their efforts knowing they will eventually get the “reward.”  A word of warning about this coach training.  Be careful not to reward your clients for “trying” because this sometimes just gets people to seek attention.

Use this Coach Training to Make a Huge Difference in the Lives of Your Clients

    e

As coaches we want to make sure we don’t “Shoot the Dog!” as Karen Pryor says, or our clients, but by using her coach training we can have an even greater influence on our clients.  We can help them make even greater achievements.  We can also teach our clients to use this life coaching training to influence the people in their own lives.

How to Make Your Coaching Mastermind Magic Last: Coach Training Reality Check

    (My Original Blog Post: http://ping.fm/FKZSY)
The biggest trouble with coaching mastermind groups is that they don’t last very long.  Every coach is excited after they go through coach training.  Almost every life coach is raring to go when they first start a coaching mastermind group.  But very few coaches keep the dream of becoming a life coach alive after their first year of coach training or instruction.

Coach Training For Sustainability: The Ongoing Syntax for Coaching Mastermind Calls

    e

Once you are out of coach training, and you are off and running with your coaching mastermind, you’ll need to keep it going, so first you’ll need to know how to run your mastermind calls ongoingly.

Here is a simple, ongoing syntax for coaching mastermind calls:

    1.  The leader or mastermind organizer should take role and CALL any coach who is not there within first five minutes (no mastermind member left behind!).

    2.  The mastermind group organizer will start recording the call.

HERE THE LEADER OF THE COACHING MASTERMIND WILL TAKE OVER:

    3.  Give the coaches 2-5 minutes of small talk / updates, giving them a chance to connect (I heard coaches like to connect with one another).

    4.  For 30-45 minutes, guide hotseat discussion(s) (The coaches(s) on the hotseat would be decided upon beforehand).  Content of the hotseat discussions can include:

    a.  coaching goals they need help with
    b.  an update with open feedback
    c.  a problem they need solved
    d.  questions they have -request for resources or connections with network(s)

    5.  **ALTERNATE STEP 4:  An alternative or addition to a hotseat format could be to create a pseudo-coach training environment by discussing a particular book that the coaches read that week and how it applies to their ongoing coach training or how you can implement the teachings of training that they’ve received in the past.  Possible group assignment or accountability set up for each coach.

    6.  The coaching mastermind group organizer should take 5 Minutes for double checking schedule of next mastermind call and which coach(es) will be next on the hotseat(s)

    7.  After you get off the phone, take 5 Minutes to read coaching mastermind coach’s written goals or visions for the year.

Coach Training on What to do After / Between Coaching Mastermind Calls

    e

The key to keeping the faith in your coaching mastermind group is to have powerful activity and results between mastermind calls that contribute to your ongoing coach training.  Make sure that all the coaches are making progress in their lives and businesses.

Coaching Mastermind Organizer Tasks: Coach Training on What You Need to do Between Calls

    e

The coaching mastermind organizer will need to handle a few things between each call.  These simple actions will really contribute to the coach training and development that comes from your participation in the coach mastermind.

    1.  Forward the call replay email link to the coaching mastermind coaches.

    2.  Send a confirmation email of the next call time and WHO is on the hot seat.

    3.  Send a reminder the day before the coaching mastermind meets… any coach who has an emergency and cannot make the call MUST email the organizer 24 hours ahead of time to notify the group (this should happen seldom, but sometimes is unavoidable).

    4.  Send another email reminder the day OF the mastermind.

Coach Training on The Bonus Key to Magical Coaching Mastermind Results

    2

Here is a little secret that my mastermind group does that has rendered HUGE results for us.  We all write out our visions for the year, then, after each mastermind call, we each individually read ALL the visions (including our own).  There’s something about the focus and intention that this process creates that is powerful and seems to create an almost magic synchronicity within the group and in our own lives and businesses.  Try it for yourself and see the results flow through your group!

Murphy’s Law in a Coaching Mastermind: What to Expect

    2

Expect problems and challenges to show up.  If they do, you’ll be prepared and not surprised.  Remember that any problems in your mastermind group are simply additional coach training that you didn’t ask for, but you can still take advantage of.  If problems don’t show up, you’ll be pleasantly surprised!

    c.  a problem they need solved
    d.  questions they have -request for resources or connections with network(s)

What is a Coaching Mastermind? Beyond Coach Training

    (My Original Blog Post: http://ping.fm/PTiw1)

Coaching Mastermind The Most Powerful Coach Training For Coaching Business Success

    e

A coaching mastermind is a group of coaches that come together for ongoing coach training and the mutual benefit of the coaches.  A coaching mastermind delivers results by discussion and 'putting their minds together', thus the term 'mastermind'.  Real coach training genius can come from more than one coach thinking about how to build their life coaching practices.

I Need More Than Coach Training?  Why is This ‘Coaching Mastermind' Principle so Important?

    e

Napoleon Hill taught me why the coaching mastermind principle is so important in a very famous book called, ' Think and Grow Rich '.  Hill felt that the Mastermind was so crucial he dedicated an entire chapter in the book to the concept.

Hill said that, in fact, the Mastermind is so important that if you didn't have one, then you COULDN'T be successful... that it was literally IMPOSSIBLE to be successful!

Here's a quote from Think and Grow Rich:
"No individual may have great power without availing himself of the Mastermind. Great power can be accumulated through NO OTHER PRINCIPLE."

After reading this, I realized that my success as a coach has come because of coaching mastermind that I've had in my life, and I realized that not everyone has been so lucky.  Most coaches just go through one coach training and then they are 'done' getting the development and support they need to  grow their coaching businesses.

What Does a Coaching Mastermind Provide You That Coach Training Doesn't?

    e

    Accountability:

With a coaching mastermind group that's behind you and watching your performance, there is always a certain amount of accountability and peer pressure to follow through and show up powerfully.

    Motivation:

Your coaching mastermind will motivate you by continuing the discussion about the things you need to do to get the results you want.  Sometimes, a lot of 'talk' is needed before you 'walk your talk'.

    Confidence / Faith:

The belief your coaching mastermind has in YOU, the METHODS you're going to use, and WHAT'S POSSIBLE makes all the difference.  What others believe, you'll tend to believe as well.

    Insight / Education:

When you first learn a new concept, it's hard to understand.  Your mastermind can help you understand by telling you about the concept from different perspectives.  When a group discusses something, it becomes more understandable to us.  Also, when we have a chance to teach something, we learn the concept more deeply.

    An Audience:

When you have an audience, life can be more fun.  Every coach deserves to get an acknowledgement and some applause from time to time.

If you are a coach and you don't currently have a coaching mastermind, then get into one immediately.  It takes more than just a bit of coach training to be successful in your coaching practice, and the mastermind is one key to that success.

How to Start Your Coach Mastermind Group

    (My Original Blog Post: http://ping.fm/qzHuf)

Coach Training on The Steps to Getting Started With Your Coach Mastermind Group

    e

Getting started with your coach mastermind can be the hardest part, so put forth some serious effort during this segment of your coach mastermind journey. Before you begin, remember that most of the members should have already been through some amount of coach training, and that leadership for the coach mastermind already should have been selected (the strong leaders are a key to having this mastermind be successful).

Here is some basic coach training on the steps that the leadership in the mastermind should take to get the mastermind off on the right foot:

    1.  Have the coach mastermind group organizer confirm a first call time with ALL COACHES and get everyone's commitment that they'll be at the first call.  (If anyone misses the first call, they will probably never make it after that, because they won't have a say as to when the next meeting is and therefore no one will be able to accommodate their schedule).

    2.  Then, the group organizer should go to www.freeconferencecall.com and get an account.  Make sure you learn how to record and moderate calls, as well as the other call commands.

    3.  The organizer will then send the confirmed coach mastermind meeting time and the conference line number to everyone in your mastermind.

    4.  The coach mastermind leader should prepare the agenda for the first call (see below).

    5.  Finally, the organizer should send the proper reminders (day before and day of).

Coach Training on A Basic First Call For a Coach Mastermind

    e

    1.  The group organizer will take role and CALL anyone who is not there within the first five minutes (no mastermind member left behind!).

    2.  Then, the organizer should begin the recording function on the conference line for posterity.

HERE THE MASTERMIND LEADER WILL TAKE OVER AND GUIDE THE GROUP:

    3.  You should spend about 2 Minutes for each coach to share basic info about themselves (i.e. -name -where they live -day job -how long they’ve coached -why they joined the mastermind group)

    4.  You should work out a time when EVERYONE can meet (preferably the same time every week to make it easy to remember).

    5.  The leader of the coach mastermind will then set up a long term structure for the group (i.e. when each coach is going to get the mastermind’s focus/help, scheduling, rules/expectations)

    6.  Then take 3 Minutes for each coach to share top 1-2 goals (hopefully coaching goals)

    7.  Finally, the organizer will end call and remind when next call is.

If you have the foresight and leadership commitment to get a coach mastermind started after you go through coach training, then you have a much better chance of making things work for your coaching practice.  Take these steps to get your coach mastermind started powerfully, so that your coach training will not have been in vain!

Coach Training on How to Run a Coach Mastermind Group

    (My Original Blog Post: http://ping.fm/HKZBe)
Here is a little coach training on how to run a successful coach mastermind.  When you have a coach mastermind that runs well, you’ll feel totally secure in your coaching business, not to mention that you’ll have the support and answers you need to take the next step in your coaching business success.  Coach training (as mentioned in other articles on this same subject) has its limitations, and these methods for running your coach mastermind will help you break free from any limits that hold you back.

Coach Mastermind: Top Keys to Getting the Most Coach Training Benefits

    .

    • Get the group on the calls!  Most coach masterminds fail before they ever get started because nobody shows up!

    • Keep everyone involved!  When you leave people out, you'll tend to lose them.

    • Make sure there's lots of VALUE! If everyone is offering great coach training to each other, then everyone wins.

    • Hold an air of DISCIPLINE & ACCOUNTABILITY!  This will keep people's attention, keep them coming back, and keep them in action.

Leadership Roles in Your Coach Mastermind:  Use Your Coach Training to Find Them

    .
    The Group Leader

Choose a group leader for your coach mastermind.  Your group leader should be comfortable taking charge, offering great coach training, and making results happen.  They should be the type of person that says, “Ok, let’s get on with it!”  Look for that no-nonsense DRIVER type of personality.  That will make a good leader in your coach mastermind group.

Your group leader should do the following:

    • Manage the 'big picture' and be the one responsible for the mastermind's success.  THE BUCK STOPS HERE!

    • Keep the conversations going that you’ve learned in your coach training, and keep the coaches participating.  Push people when needed.  Ask lots of questions to prompt answers.

    • Make decisions when the group can't come to an answer.  If there's an impasse, then break it and just move forward.

    • Keep the discipline and accountability going.  Make sure people follow through on their promises and don't settle for less.

    The Group Organizer

Choose a group organizer.  Your group organizer should be comfortable keeping all the coach mastermind’s ducks in a row, going over all the details that other people miss, and just handling any organizational tasks that are required of the group.  They should be the type of person that says, “Wait! We missed something that we need to cover.  Let’s slow down and make sure we have all the details handled first!”  That will make a good organizer in your coach mastermind group.

Your group organizer should do the following:

    • Email a reminder of the call (the day before and the day of).

    • Make sure that the calls are scheduled at times that most everyone in the group can make.  Check with people via email and phone if needed.

    • Keep notes on accountabilities and any other coach training info that’s needed (keep things in order).

    • Make an audio recording of each call for the coaches that miss the call and for anyone that wants to review the results.

Following these steps for running a coach mastermind group will help you and your members get the most out of this dynamic coach training.

Coach Mastermind Saved Me: Coach Training For Lost Coaches

    (My Original Blog Post: http://ping.fm/ePiwl)

How the Coach Mastermind Gave Me Coach Training For Success

    .

Coach training wise, I was lucky from the start, I think. Even before I thought I was ever going to use coach training I had a coach mastermind that helped me get started as a life coach. My coach mastermind had given me coach training with some very powerful beliefs, values, and habits. I had learned a few things from my coach mastermind. Those beliefs got me started in my coaching business.

No Coach Training and No Coach Mastermind? Try to Start a Coaching Business

    .

I started my coaching business with $7,347.00 in savings, and one client (that I was doing pro-bono coaching for). I actually started my coaching business in a TRAILER, not much more than 100 square feet (on someone else's property no less). I could only afford the $400 / month rent the owner charged me.

I was failing as a coach

I tried hanging out my shingle as a coach hoping that the world would come beating on my door . . . . It didn't happen. With no coach training and no coach mastermind, it wasn't going to happen, but I didn't realize that at the time.

I would have gone broke my first month in coaching if I didn’t have that $7,347.00 in savings.

I knew I needed a water-tight FORMULA for success in this business, but I really didn't know where to start. Finally, I knew there was one ‘magic bullet’ that would give me the extra edge that I needed to succeed…

I Finally Formed a Coach Mastermind

    .

I found a coach mastermind of other successful coaching business owners and we had regular mastermind calls. Because I was studying with my coach mastermind group, a few key strategies I learned from them helped me to get my coaching business rolling forward again. I realized that I couldn't afford not to gain the coach training that was a result of this amazing coach mastermind team’s business experience.

Coach Mastermind and Coach Training: Finding a Formula for Success in the Coaching Business

    .

Clients, money, and freedom were now coming to me in my practice. The second 6 months in my coaching practice, I enrolled 25 new coaching clients. I could now look at my calendar and see my coaching days FULLY BOOKED with back to back coaching sessions.

I can remember my surprise and disbelief watching my bank balances increase, finally reaching $31,437 income in just ONE MONTH in my business. I began to wake up excited every day because I knew I was my own boss, and I loved what I did for a living

Celebrating My Success with a Coach Mastermind Group

    .

One time each year, my coach mastermind takes a weekend to reflect and plan our visions for the year. Some of the places we have gone in years past include: Palm Springs, Sedona, and the Bahamas. Now I feel very lucky that I’ve got the freedom to take those little vacations with my coach mastermind and create the next successful growth year in my coaching business.

I can barely imagine that it was not more than 6 1/2 years ago that I was slaving year-round in that little 100 square foot trailer, (without any fancy vacations). If it had not been for my coach mastermind, I never would have gotten the coach training I needed to arrive at this level of success.

Careers in Wellness Coaching: Health Coaching For The Most Dangerous Health Risk Factor

    (My Original Blog Post: http://ping.fm/jxUAT)
Health Coaching is not just a niche- it’s a super niche.  There are many possible careers in wellness coaching, such as weigh management, smoking cessation, and nutritional coaching.  But among all these careers in wellness coaching, there is one factor that if dealt with properly, could be the lynch pin that solves all these barriers to health.   The most common risk factor I find in health coaching is that people are driven to fulfill their need for certainty in their life.

The Need for Certainty and Health Coaching

    e

Is this really an issue for careers in wellness coaching?  With all the uncertainty in the economy, environment, and government; who can blame people for looking for a little more certainty?  The problem is that most people use vehicles such as smoking, eating, drinking or drugs (prescription and non-prescription) to gain some control over their life.  We know if we drink that beverage, eat that cake, or smoke that cigarette we will feel a certain way.  How do you feel after eating a huge Thanksgiving meal?  Bloated and stuffed, but also sleepy, and content?  The consequences of these behaviors eventually become severe enough to seek health coaching or other forms of intervention.

That is why there is such a demand for good coaches looking for careers in wellness coaching.  Rather than focusing on accountability, we need to focus on health coaching technologies to get to the source of the problem.  There are several quick steps to help you get to the root of the problem.

Health Coaching Tips to Help You Get to the Root of the Problem – The Need for Certainty

    e

Health Coaching Tips for Coaches Who Want Careers in Wellness Coaching:

    1. Understand that everything we do is motivated by our desire to fulfill a need.

    2. Help your clients identify how their needs are being fulfilled by their current behavior, and what needs they feel might get met at a lower level by changing their behavior

    3. Help your client see the pain their behavior is costing them in terms of the past, present, and future.  How might things become worse if they fail to make changes now?

    4. Help your clients find a way to get their needs met at a higher level by changing their behavior.  Get them to see that getting their finances in order will give them more certainty about their financial future than going out for drinks after work.  Or address the uncertainty a person feels when going to a social gathering instead of focusing on the food.

If You’re Looking For Careers In Wellness Coaching Don’t Under Estimate the Need for Certainty

    e

Among the careers in wellness coaching, you will find that the need for certainty drives a great deal of human behavior.  And one of the benefits of health coaching is that you can help people not just change their behavior, but also get their needs met at an even higher level.

Become a Life Coach Who Can Survive the Process: The Fatal Mistake That Keeps People From Becoming a Coach

    (My Original Blog Post: http://ping.fm/JL0NI)

Don’t Give Up on Your Dream of Becoming a Coach, Instead Follow These Tips

    e

Upon completion of training to become a life coach, what do most people have in common? Easy, most become so overwhelmed they give up on their dream of becoming a coach at the moment it becomes possible.  Maybe it’s the cumulative fatigue from making a coaches training program fit into their already busy schedule that makes them more susceptible to fear.  However, many people allow the outside world to come crashing around their dream of becoming a coach and they start to give up.  If you really want to become a life coach, you’re going to have to get past this obstacle.

When You Become a Life Coach Live by this Rule: Don’t Play Small

    e

Become a life coach who doesn’t play small.  Too many potentially great coaches get caught up in trying to be perfect.  By holding themselves to an impossible standard they’re forced to give up, eventually.  Becoming a coach who plays all out means allowing yourself to set big goals and make big mistakes.

Most people who want to become a life coach, do so because they want to help others.   But they think they need to set an example of perfection.  However, by trying to be perfect, you are really not setting a standard at all, because who is perfect?  When you stop making your success about you, you start becoming a coach who can really serve others and make a tremendous impact on their lives.

How do you become a life coach who can overcome this hurdle?  By becoming a coach who will:

    1. Be honest with yourself and with others.  Where are you struggling?

    2. Get support.  Use your coach to help change your state and focus.  Get clear on what you want in the long term and short term.

    3. Take the daily action you need to stay on track.  Have tools in place to be accountable.

    4. Reward yourself for who you are, who you are becoming, and the difference you are making for others.

Are You All In?  You Have What it Takes to Become a Life Coach, Now Do IT

    e

When you become a life coach who gets past your fears and plays all out, you give others permission to do the same.  Don’t fall among those who quit just before they start experiencing the benefits of their hard work.  Becoming a coach who makes it past this hurdle will prepare you for the challenges you will inevitably come across during the rest of your career.  Remember, walk your talk and don’t try to do it alone.

Become a Life Coach Who is Committed to Getting Results At All Costs: How to Become a Parenting Coach Who is Hated by Their Own Children

    (My Original Blog Post: http://ping.fm/1RPe3)
Most people become a life coach because they want to help people, but when you become a parenting coach there will be a large group of people who may actually hate you.  This group is made up of the children and teens of the clients for which you become a parenting coach, and possibly even your own children.  When you become a life coach who is ready to stand on the front lines of relationships, you will the parents you coach will rank their relationship as the greatest priority.  And the truth is, that’s not going to be very popular.

Become a Life Coach that Helps Parents Realize the Kids Can’t Run the Show

    e

The biggest obstacle to become a parenting coach is that parents won’t usually see a problem until they experience a significant amount of pain.  If the kids are happy, isn’t everyone else happy?  As someone who has become a life coach you know better, because if they kids are running the show, there is no certainty in the home.  You can’t take them anywhere, you can’t find a babysitter and leave them with anyone else, and the person you loved and married will become a complete stranger.

When You Become a Parenting Coach it’s Your Responsibility to Help Clients Set Boundaries with Their Kids

    e

But if you can become a parenting coach who can help their clients take a stand on what is acceptable and what isn’t, the entire family can share an amazing life.  Dig into your tool box that you used to become a life coach.  Get the parents on board enough to see that if they are not perceived as a united front, they will not be able to withstand the attacks from their children when they don’t get what they wanted.  Standing firm as allies is the only way out without injury.

So, What are the Basic Steps to Become a Parenting Coach?

    e

Here are the basic steps to become a parenting coach.   First, have your clients establish clear boundaries about what is acceptable and what isn’t.  Next be ready for those boundaries to be tested.  Become a life coach who has helped set up mutual support between the parents for these times.  And finally help your clients set up rewards for positive behavior.

Become a life coach who helps their clients paint a clear picture about what their lives would be like if they lived their lives with healthy boundaries around parenting.  Become a parenting coach who helps your clients recognize the first steps they need to take is establishing expectations for behavior as well as setting aside time for each other.  When the children see their parents as a united, loving front; they will feel safe and secure.  They will still test boundaries, but there will be peace at the end of the day.

[Blog] Become a Life Coach Who is Committed to Getting Results At All Costs: How to Become a Parenting Coach Who is Hated by Their Own Child...: Most people become a life coach because they want to help people, but when you become a parenting coach there will be a large group of people who may actually hate you.

What You Need to Be a Coach: Become a Life Coach Who Walks Their Talk When It Comes to Relationship Coaching

    (My Original Blog Post: http://ping.fm/SnNGk)

What You Need to Be a Coach: Three Keys to Successfully Become a Life Coach

    .

How can you become a life coach unless you walk your own talk? Maybe your own relationships aren’t great yet, but the question is you doing what you know to make them better. If you think what you need to be a coach is to be perfect, you’re wrong. Here are 3 keys to become a life coach who is on the path to restoring their own relationships. What you need to be a coach isn’t perfection, but integrity and a mindset that anything is possible.

What You Need to Be a Coach: Empathy

    .

The first step to become a life coach who knows how to restore relationships is to empathize with the other person’s feelings. You have 2 ears and only 1 mouth. Before you attempt to resolve a disagreement, make sure you see the problems from the other person’s viewpoint. Focus on their feelings, not the facts. Don’t try to talk people out of how they feel or offer solutions. By doing this you are saying, “I value your opinion and I care about our relationship.”

What You Need to Be a Coach: Own Your Part

    .

The next step to become a life coach is to own what is yours, and ask the other person to forgive you. Clean up your mess before asking someone else to clean up theirs. If you don’t see your own role, you might need someone to help you see your own blind spot. Someone is going to have to go first, and it might as well be you. Remember, you are the coach. If you are going to be a leader, get in the habit of going first. Don’t make excuses or shift the blame, just own any part you have played in the conflict. This will disarm the other person’s anger, most people react by becoming defensive.

What You Need to Be a Coach: Solve the Problem

    .

Now you are in a position to become a life coach who is ready to work on the problem. Make sure you work with the other person to attack the problem, and avoid placing blame or getting defensive. Look at the problem objectively, and come from the place of being clear about what your intentions are. Be ready to compromise and make adjustments for the needs of the other person. Making peace is not about avoiding conflict or being a doormat. For the sake of the relationship you need to be honest with yourself and the other person.

Become a Life Coach Who Knows That Honesty Is What You Need to Be a Coach

    .

Now you have what is takes to become a life coach who can handle one of the toughest challenges of all. Remember, you don’t have to wait until you feel like you can brag to others about the quality of your relationships. What you need to be a coach is to be honest with yourself and others in your life, and at least master the first of these 2 steps. After that, the possibilities will start opening up.

Coach Training Hypocrites: Why Study Life Coaching Through Getting Coached?

    (My Original Blog Post: http://ping.fm/AH5vI)
Can you get your coach training and study life coaching without experiencing the transformational breakthroughs that are such a big part of coaching? You can but you’ll suck. Why will you suck so much? Simply because you won’t believe your own coaching (or the value of your own coaching). If you want to study life coaching, then become a great life coaching client, or at least take a coach training that provides lots of chances to get coaching yourself.

Coach Training Without a Coach: Guaranteed ‘Sucky’ Way to Study Life Coaching

    .

I started my coaching career without a coach, and didn’t really study life coaching. True, I DID listen to a lot of Tony Robbins! But, other than that, I was a coaching hypocrite. What I did after I started my own coaching business was not much better, but an improvement. I did get a coach but I didn’t really stick with the program very much. So much for avoiding coach training hypocrisy for myself.

Study Life Coaching With The Right Coaches And You Won’t Need Much More Coach Training

    .

I started with a guy that was making 1 million dollars per year as a coach. Not bad, right? His name was Robert. He taught me a lot about selling the coaching and thinking about my own worth and working through bigger business opportunities. I cut my coaching business teeth with him and got into the mode of really expecting money from my work.

Meg was the first real accountability coach I ever worked with. I got so much from the coaching with her that I hired her as the first coach to work on a team with me. She taught me to ‘be my word’ and work through my own laziness, irresponsibility, pettiness, and selfishness. Acting right is many times harder than thinking right, and these distinctions really helped me produce real measurable results in the world as well as get the trust of other people that eventually became clients, partners, and team members.

Eben is a coach who made 20 million per year, and I never really got one-on-one coaching from him, but he certainly gave me great transformation via seeing him speak. I learned about the mindset of a business owner and marketer versus the mindset of an expert or coach, and why coaches make such little money.

Finally, masterminds have played a major part of my development. Masterminds allowed me to work through how to use what tool when. They also drove me to perform because of my need to ‘look good’ to other mastermind members.

Study Life Coaching by Multiple Coach Training

    .

Later on in my coaching business, when I started to train other coaches, I decided to get really serious about coaching and allowed many of the coaches that went through my trainings to coach me directly (and get feedback and training from the experience). I still do that to this day (in fact I had a coach working with me today). What I’ve found is this: as a business owner, I don’t have a manager. So I finally become seriously productive when I have two or three accountability coaches kicking my butt (I called three or four of them just today).

How Not to B.S. Your Way through Coach Training: Study Life Coaching like You’re your Life Depends on It

    .

I think what you can ultimately get from having so many great coaches contributing to you is an unshakable belief that your coaching, and coaching in general, is really priceless, and that anyone who is not receiving it is going to miss out BIG TIME. The only way I know to reproduce that in people is by having them get MASSIVE COACHING during their coach training. If you want to study life coaching, don’t forget to always have several coaches and a mastermind working with you, and you’ll see massive payoffs not only for yourself, but also for your life coaching clients.

What is a Life Coach? Become a Life Coach Who Is Able to Answer The Most Commonly Wondered Question With Confidence and Clarity

    (My Original Blog Post: http://ping.fm/ASNOT)
How often have you been asked, “What is a life coach?”  Whether they ask it out loud or not, there isn’t really a simple answer to this question.  So how can you become a life coach who has enough confidence in their own abilities to answer with conviction?

No, Really -- What is a Life Coach?

    .
What is a life coach?  Is it consulting?  Coaching is a form of consulting.  But someone who has become a life coach will also stay with the client to help implement the new skills, changes and goals to make sure they really happen.

What is a life coach?  Is it therapy?  Coaching is not therapy.  We don’t work on “issues” or get into the past.  Someone one who has become a life coach leaves that up to the client to know and figure out.  A coach will help them move forward and set personal and professional goals that will give them the life they really want.

Are You the Sort of Person that Wants to Become a Life Coach?

    .
What is a life coach?  Is it similar to sports coaching?  Coaching includes several principles from sports coaching like teamwork, going for the goal and being your best.  But unlike sporting coaching, someone who has become a life coach is not competition or win/lose based.  We strengthen the client’s skills instead of helping them beat the other team.  It’s win/win.

What is a life coach?  Is it a best friend’s advice?  A best friend is wonderful to have.  But is your best friend a professional who you can trust to advise you on the most important aspects of your life or business?  You probably are best off having a best friend and hiring someone who has become a life coach.

When You Become a Life Coach, You Should Never Stop Asking Yourself the Question, “What is a Life Coach?”

    .
The answer to “What is a life coach?” is not as simple as it appears.  Because life coaching is a relatively new field, it is not as well defined.  The more you step into the role of someone who has become a life coach, the more you will realize how unique coaching is.  A coach is close enough to care, yet by keeping an objective and professional distance can offer the benefits of looking at situations from a variety of view points.  All with the intention of making a profound difference in their clients’ lives and producing results.

Relationship Coach Tips: How to Become a Relationship Expert in 90 Days or Less

    (My Original Blog Post: http://ping.fm/j7Qs7)
If you really want to know how to become a relationship expert, there are two ways: the fast and easy way, or the long and hard way. If you are already a relationship coach, or want to become a relationship coach sometime in the near future, I recommend the fast way, just like ripping a bandage off your elbow. Once you commit to doing it, how to become a relationship expert can happen faster than you imagine.

How to Become a Relationship Expert: Push Your Clients to Decide What they Want in a Relationship

    e

There are 3 keys to how to become a relationship expert. The first step is to be a relationship coach who gets their clients to decide what they really want. For example if your client really wants to be in a married relationship, she needs to make her spouse the most important person in her life. Not her career, not the kids. Loving the kids and putting them first is easy. They need her. Loving her spouse means living with a certain amount of uncertainty. But that lack of certainty also provides a lot more variety in the relationship and when the kids eventually leave the house, she will still have the relationship with her spouse.

Become a Relationship Coach that Convinces Clients to Commit to the 90 Day Challenge

    e

The next key to how to become a relationship expert is to have your clients commit to the 90 day challenge. This is huge in becoming a relationship coach who can motivate your clients to any undertaking. Basically, you will have your clients commit to showing their spouse how important they are, in a way that they appreciate, for three months. Not that it takes that long for your clients to start seeing a difference, but by that time they have so much momentum that it will carry them through long term. And wouldn’t most of your clients do whatever it takes to reach one of their ultimate goals in less than three months?

In Discovering How to Become a Relationship Expert Make Sure Your Clients Know They Are Responsible for Change

    e

The final key to how to become a relationship expert is to make it clear to your clients that it is up to them individually to make the change. If you are a relationship coach to only one of the partners, then it is imperative that you create the right mind set to accomplish the goal. It rarely works for one of the partners to say to the other, “Let’s both do this.” The other person might not be enrolled until he or she starts experiencing the results, but someone has to go first.

With these three keys to how to become a relationship expert, you can start making a difference right away. If you have what it takes to become a relationship coach who is ready to take a strong stance for the well being of your clients, then the results you produce will speak for themselves.
